Our stock is not free.  You pay for its' use by crediting us.  Your use of any image under the ~geoectomy-stock account constitutes acceptance of the following terms:

1) Use of Images
These images are not to be used as content in and of themselves.  You may not use these images for any work which glorifies the discrimination of race, religion, age, gender, sexual orientation, or cruelty to animals.  We reserve the right to deny stock-usage should the finished product contravene these directions.  We are not unreasonable, and we understand the difference between social commentary and glorification.

2) Attribution 3.0 Unported (CC BY 3.0)
The stock images offered here are licensed under a  Creative Commons Attribution 3.0 Unported (CC BY 3.0) License.  Please make sure you understand what this means.

3) Commercial Uses
You may use our images for commercial ventures that do not exceed a print-run of 99 copies.  Please contact me by email at: photos@geoectomy.net for larger commercial ventures.
  1. DeviantART Prints - If you are offering derivative work as DeviantART prints, you do not need to ask permission.  We still want the credit, though!

  2. External Use (Outside DeviantART - You may post artworks our images in derivatives outside of DeviantART, provided that a credit is clearly displayed on or near the image, including a URL or link to my DeviantArt profile ( ~geoectomy-stock ) and that we are shown all pages where our stocks has been used (in any capacity, including WIP's and detail shots)

4) Personal Use for Stock-Provider and Models Involved
The photographer/stock-provider and models who's likeness appear in your works reserve the right to use your derivative work to promote our own services (and yours) both in and outside of DeviantART. In no way will your material be used for direct profit unless discussed with you beforehand.

Pleased be advised that I will be revising prior posts to reflect this current set of stock rules, so that all images posted under this account fall under this new set of guidelines.

when you say they are not to be used as context in and of themselves, do you mean adding one or two manipulations to the stock? i'd like some more clarification, please.

I mean simply that the content of the image needs to be added to, altered, or used in conjunction with other content.

There needs to be a substantial difference between the work in which the stock-image is used, and the stock-image itself.

I recognize that such a statement reflects asubjective opinion, but really... slapping a color-filter on it just isn't enough. It's still clearly and obviously my image.

Does that help?

I have a quick question, in regards to your stock in which no model is portrayed I still credit you as i would assume correct?

Yes please.

Where no model is portrayed, commercial uses is no longer an issue. This is because I am obligated to inform some models of the uses to which their likeness appears, and to attempt to seek out some compensation or recognition on their behalf.

This isn't an issue with no model present.

But I still very much want to see what's

No problem. I always post a link to the owner of the stock and everything, and i post a like on the stock used so the stock provider can see it.
I just wanted to know if the no model ones were allowed to be used for commercial use. It's rather hard to find decent stock- but most often time I have no money and make no profit on the items i make, so its rather dreadful to have to buy a license when i make no profit in the first place.

I'm not concerned about the no-model images. Use 'em as you see fit.

For those with a model, I want the right to yea/nay it. The prices are reasonable and negotiable for commercial purposes. I won't lay out any prices here. That's best discussed in private.

Your stock is lovely. If I used some of it and then posted that image on Tumblr, but the image was linked was directly back to my DA page where I had given you attribution, would I still be required to inform you and provide you with a link?

I do wish to be informed of it's appearance elsewhere from Deviant Art.

This is of particular concern if it is model-stock, as I have an obligation to attempt to inform the model of every use of his or her likeness I am aware of.
